THREE WAYS TO CONNECT METAL CLAY
METHOD 1
Joining wet to wet clay
Score and slip (cross hatching on both sides of clay, add water or clay paste and press together, forming a velcro connection.
In some cases you can skip score and slip and just add water, clay paste and apply pressure
I always add Clay Tack for extra strength
METHOD 2
Joining wet and dry clay
Use clay paste on dry clay and attach wet clay on top, always use pressure to strength connection, add water and more clay paste when needed
I always add Clay Tack for extra strength
METHOD 3
Fixing cracks and imperfections post fire
Use clay tack on fired pieces and attach additional wet clay on top, always use pressure to strength connection, and read directions on Clay Tack bottle for best results
Let dry and refiring, you can repreate this process as many times as need. Some color variation can happen when repeating this process in bronze
